Our Story
Venus Fashionista is a label founded in 2019. What started as a mere passion at a flat in south Chennai with a three member team of the label designer, an embroidery karigar and a tailor has today transpired into a line of contemporary wear employing karigars from outskirts of Chennai city and far north of India. Today, Venus Fashionista provides in-direct employment to several women artisans that are bound to stay back at their homes to take care of their household duties but at the same time are inspirational and immensely talented in the traditional Ari embroidery craft.
The label was started with the belief that an attire plays a defining role in a person’s confidence and sense of self – ‘you are what you wear.’ A personal search for outfits infusing the artistic designs from India with a variety of global styles and silhouettes led to establish this label which stands for – contemporary chic. The label strives to create designs that leave an unforgettable impression, while standing out among hundreds with subtle elegance and poise.
The founder, Chetna has a deep appreciation for the rich textile heritage of India and hand-picks fabrics and patterns that are exquisite and display supreme craftsmanship.
